TEXAS CITY - Dumb and heartless were the words Cheretta Michelle Smith used Thursday to describe her fatal knife attack on her grandmother.

Rather than summon help, Smith, 20, called a cab and went to sell Theretta Gayden Miller's flat-screen television and computer, leaving her legally blind grandmother to die, testimony revealed.
