At 9am Sunday morning, Nueces County Sheriff's Sgt. Louis Forte came across what he thought was an abandoned SUV on Old Brownsville near West Point.

When he went to check on the vehicle, he noticed 6 people in the SUV, and he realized they were illegal immigrants.

The immigrants told Forte that they had been on the road for a few days, without food and water.

Then Forte checked the back of the SUV and found 7 more immigrants.

Forte called Border Patrol officers in and BP agents took the immigrants in for processing.

No driver was found
