UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 17050 Imperial Valley

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 17050 Imperial Valley about 3:10 p.m. on August 16.

The suspect, Terry Mitchell Dunn (b/m, DOB: 7-31-89), is charged with capital murder in the 232nd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Marcus Trisnell Williams, 36, of the above address.  Mr. Williams suffered a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Howard and Officer R. Lujan reported:

Mr. Williams was home with his brother and roommate when an unknown male knocked at the door. When the residents answered the door, the suspect entered, produced a pistol, and ordered everyone to get on the ground, with the apparent intent to rob them.  Williams struggled with the suspect and during the struggle, several shots were fired.  The victim was fatally struck by the gunfire.

The suspect, described only as a black male, fled the scene on foot.

Further investigation identified Dunn as the suspect in this case.  He was taken into custody on Tuesday (Sept. 24) without incident.
